FAQ — Buying Original Art | Natalie Gillis Fine Art Gallery Denver

Question 1

How do I purchase an original painting?

Accepted Answer

Every painting on this site can be acquired directly. Click any work to view its detail page, then select 'Add to Cart' for immediate purchase or 'Inquire' to discuss the piece privately. Natalie handles every sale personally — you'll hear from her directly.

Question 2

What payment methods are accepted?

Accepted Answer

All major credit and debit cards are accepted through our secure Stripe checkout. For large acquisitions over $5,000, payment plans and wire transfer arrangements can be made — contact Natalie directly to discuss.

Question 3

How are paintings shipped?

Accepted Answer

Every painting is professionally crated and shipped with full insurance coverage. Domestic US shipping typically takes 5–10 business days. International shipping is available — contact us for a quote. White-glove delivery and installation can be arranged for Denver and Front Range collectors.

Question 4

What is the return policy?

Accepted Answer

Because each painting is a unique original, all sales are final. However, Natalie stands behind every work — if a painting arrives damaged, she will work with you to make it right. A 7-day approval period can be arranged for local Denver collectors.

Question 5

Are prices negotiable?

Accepted Answer

Listed prices reflect the true value of each original work. For collectors acquiring multiple pieces, or for corporate and commercial commissions, please reach out directly — Natalie is happy to discuss arrangements that work for serious collectors.

Question 6

How does the commission process work?

Accepted Answer

Natalie accepts a limited number of commissions each year. The process begins with a consultation — in-person at her Denver studio or via video call — to discuss your vision, space, and preferred palette. A deposit secures your spot, and Natalie provides progress photos throughout. Most commissions are completed within 6–12 weeks.

Question 7

How much does a custom painting cost?

Accepted Answer

Commission pricing starts at $1,500 for smaller works and scales with size and complexity. Large-scale murals and commercial installations are quoted individually. Contact Natalie for a personalised estimate — she'll work with your budget to create something extraordinary.

Question 8

What sizes are available for commissions?

Accepted Answer

Natalie works at any scale — from intimate 12"×12" pieces to large-format canvases over 6 feet. She also creates murals for commercial spaces, restaurants, hotels, and corporate offices across Colorado and beyond.

Question 9

How would you describe Natalie's painting style?

Accepted Answer

Natalie's work is bold, eclectic, and unmistakably alive. She moves fluidly between abstraction, mixed media, and figurative work — often within a single canvas. Her palette is rich and fearless: deep jewel tones, copper golds, and unexpected colour combinations that command attention in any space.

Question 10

What materials and mediums does Natalie use?

Accepted Answer

Natalie primarily works in acrylic and mixed media on canvas, often incorporating texture, collage elements, and metallic accents. Each painting is sealed with a professional varnish for long-term preservation.

Question 11

Where is Natalie Gillis based?

Accepted Answer

Natalie is a Colorado native based in Denver. Her studio is in the Denver metro area, and she exhibits locally as well as selling to collectors across the United States and internationally. Private studio viewings are available by appointment.

Question 12

How do I know a painting is an authentic Natalie Gillis original?

Accepted Answer

Every painting sold through this gallery is an original work by Natalie Gillis, signed on the front or back. Each acquisition includes a certificate of authenticity. Natalie does not produce prints or reproductions — every work is one of a kind.

Question 13

How do I care for an original acrylic painting?

Accepted Answer

Keep your painting away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity. Dust lightly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners. Natalie's paintings are varnished for protection, but professional cleaning is recommended for any significant restoration needs.

Question 14

Any tips for hanging and displaying the painting?

Accepted Answer

For best results, hang away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Proper lighting — ideally warm LED picture lights — will bring out the depth and texture of the work. For large or heavy canvases, use appropriate wall anchors and consult a professional installer.
